Church of Scotland 'Year of Young people'

Church of Scotland contracted GlobalSound to produce a short promotional film entitled 'Our Church' to celebrate church engagement with children and young people at local, presbytery and national level. The ‘Year of Young People’ explores the ethos of helping children and young people be at the heart of designing, developing and deciding what shape the year takes and how churches can get involved.

Action-In-Mind-Logo

Age In Mind - Action In Mind

GlobalSound were contracted by Action in Mind to produce a series of four documentaries. Each film portrayed the life of an older adult who has experienced stigma and discrimination based on their mental health. Age in Mind Change Networks’ is a new initiative which takes an innovative approach to reducing stigma and discrimination against older people with mental health needs across Scotland. The Project Management group consists of representatives from: Action in Mind, See Me, Flourish House, Lanarkshire Association for Mental Health, Age Scotland, East Dunbartonshire Association for Mental Health, Health in Mind and Renfrew Association for Mental Health.

Church of Scotland Stewardship and Finance - Time Talent Money

The Mission and Discipleship Council re-contracted GlobalSound to create a training resource DVD and a series of short educational on-line films. The objective was to assist their 'National Stewardship Programme'in helping congregations the opportunity to think about how they use their time, talents and money in serving God. The film was produced in three differing geographical locations across the nation led by Church of Scotland Stewardship consultants and members of their congregations. The topics, Time Talent and Money were individually shared within each of the parishes urban, rural and suburban settings.

Into Film - See It Make It

Into Film re-contracted GlobalSound to work with three Stirlingshire schools helping to produce creative film. Each school took part in 9 fun workshops where the 5 stages of film production were explored and ideas developed. The series of 27 workshops helped stimulate and facilitate professional film making in schools and in turn assisted teachers and pupils to develop new skills and gain continuing support throughout the entire film making process.

TEDx

TEDx Bruntsfield

GlobalSound were contracted to film a series of live TEDx talks in Edinburgh. At a TEDx event, TED talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection sharing a TED-like experience. These local, events are branded TEDx, where x = an independently organised TED event.

This was an official TEDx event using the TED conference format. TED provided general guidance for the TEDx programme which was coordinated independently by Theo Priestly and held under a free license. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx.

The Howden Group

The Howden Group via Big Red Resources contracted GlobalSound to film and edit their corporate convention hosted at Braehead Quay in Glasgow. From its base in the West of Scotland, Howden has been leading the world in the design and manufacture of fans, heat exchangers and compressors for over 160 years. With over 6000 employees in 27 countries and equipment operating in another 90, their products operate in key industries such as power generation and petrochemicals where performance and reliability are crucial.

At this live event Howden management were filmed making keynote speeches enhanced by stage crew lighting from Destiny Productions and live sound and direction from audio visual events company Big Red Resources.

Church of Scotland Mission and Discipleship Council - Future Focus

The Mission and Discipleship Council re-contracted GlobalSound to create a new promotional training film to assist their 'Future Focus' Program. 'Future Focus' involves three workshop sessions taking church groups on a spiritual journey exploring their past, present and future. Seven short films in total were produced for the project with the promotional film viewable here: 'Future Focus -Brought Into Sharper Focus'.

Earlier in the year GlobalSound also produced a series of humorous 'Quick Guide' film sketches for The Mission and Discipleship Council. The aim was to help Churches bring the Bible to 'Life’ and be a starting point whilst exploring how to present the 'Word' in ways that are both arresting and memorable.

Each school took part in 9 fun workshops where many aspects of film production were explored including the making of a short film. The series of 36 workshops helped stimulate and facilitate professional film making in schools and in turn assisted teachers and pupils to develop new skills and gain continuing support throughout the entire film-making process.

The six films were premièred at the Macrobert Art's Centre Cinema with all the film-makers. Two of the films made can be viewed here: 'Nump-tie' - Callander Primary School and 'Captured' - McLaren High School.

Fenwick Parish Church - Lest We Forget

GlobalSound were commissioned by Fenwick Parish Church on a five month film project exploring World War One and its impact with the local community. Funded by Heritage Lottery, the aim was to create a short series of documentary films with local young people which would help inform and provide a commemoration opportunity for the wider community.

Weekly Film production workshops took place and GlobalSound supported the young film-makers to engage in an exciting production process from initial idea to scripting, filming, interviewing, greenscreen filming and acting. The films document the lives of two very special Fenwick individual who served with the military during World War One.
